On Friday, The Bob Newhart Show actor Jack Riley passed away at 80 years old. The thespian’s wife, Ginger Lawrence, told Deadline her husband died in Los Angeles after battling pneumonia and an infection.
The Ohio native is predominantly know for his role as Elliot Carlin in Bob Newhart‘s CBS sitcom. He also voiced Stu Pickles on Nickelodeon‘s Rugrats and spinoff series All Growed Up.
The father-of-two got his start on the ’60s show Occasional Wife, and has also appeared in High Anxiety, History of the World Part I, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Long Goodbye, and California Split.
And, Jack has had numerous guest roles on titles like I Dream of Jeannie, Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, The Partridge Family, Hogan’s Heroes, and many more.
Our hearts are with everyone affected by this sad loss.
