Rosie O’Donnell seems to have mended her relationship with her formerly estranged teenage daughter.
The comedian posted an image of her and daughter Chelsea, 18, to Instagram on Thursday with the caption “chelsea and me — what a difference a year makes #hopelives.”
Chelsea had a strained relationship with her adopted mother and made headlines last August when she went missing.
The teen was later found safe in New Jersey with her boyfriend, an alleged heroin addict. She then went to live with him and his family, before moving to Wisconsin to be with her birth mother.
At the time, O’Donnell’s rep told People that her situation with Chelsea was “heartbreaking on every level.”
The 54-year-old actress later used the drama as comedic ammunition when she joked that she decided to adopt a baby to remind herself that she still loved children.
“My teenagers are a nightmare, they’re horrible,” she said.
In addition to her latest child, 3-year-old Dakota, O’Donnell also has two other teenager children, Blake, 16 and Vivienne, 13. Her eldest son, Parker, is now 21.
