This is the gayest news we’ve heard all day!
Sure, many corrupt politicians are still keeping us unprotected thanks to their asinine stance on gun control, but the President decided to one-up offer something while we wait — the country’s first-ever National Monument dedicated to the LGBT community:
The Stonewall National Monument!!!
As many of our readers are already know, the 1969 police raids on Stonewall Inn marked the beginning of the fight for equal rights for our people… and we’re so happy to see that now honored on a national scale.
President Barack Obama made the announcement in a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday, saying:
“This week I’m designating the Stonewall National Monument as the newest addition to America’s National Park System. Stonewall will be our first national monument to tell the story of the struggle for LGBT rights. I believe our national parks should reflect the full story of our country, the richness and diversity and uniquely American spirit that has always defined us. That we are stronger together. That out of many, we are one.”
We love you, Mr. President!
