Jed Lowrie signs two-year, $20 million deal with Mets: reports

Post date:

But Lowrie, like Cano, was a former client of Brodie Van Wagenen’s at CAA, meaning they have a solid previous relationship, and it’s more likely that Lowrie will play some third base in Flushing if the Mets are worried about Todd Frazier’s durability and production. Lowrie also would be an option at first base with the Mets still unsure who their long-term answer is at the position. Peter Alonso, who has torn apart Triple-A pitching, will likely get the opportunity to start there at some point this season, but if he isn’t ready, Lowrie could fill in as well.
