Former Knicks head coach Derek Fisher has formally been charged with two counts of DUI related to his car crash from June 4, according to TMZ.

If convicted, Fisher could face up to six months in jail. However, as TMZ notes, it’s more likely he receives some combination of probation, fines and a requirement to take an alcohol education course, being that it’s his first offense.

The wreck came at around 3 a.m. with Fisher at the wheel and girlfriend Gloria Govan a passenger when he lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a guardrail an and overturned his Cadillac.

Both Derek Fisher and girlfriend Gloria Govan both reported no injuries after being helped out of the overturned vehicle.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, including both Fisher and Govan. That was the sentiment Fisher echoed in a street interview with TMZ last month in which he insisted this mistake wouldn’t happen again.

Derek Fisher DUI car is registered to Matt Barnes: report

It was later revealed that the car involved in the crash was registered to Matt Barnes, Fisher’s ex-teammate and the ex-husband of Govan. Barnes and Fisher were previously involved in a physical altercation when Barnes discovered Fisher’s love affair with Govan, who was his estranged wife at that time.
