“Dancing with the Stars” has nominated its ideal candidate for the show — Bill Clinton.
Hillary’s husband has been elected numerous times to take part in ABC’s hit dance competition, according to the show’s casting director Deena Katz.
Katz told ABC News that she’s asked the 69-year-old former POTUS to join the show every year since its 2005 premiere — except for this upcoming season. She thought he “might be a little busy” with the 2016 election as he campaigns with his wife — who made history as the Democratic party’s first female presidential nominee against GOP rival Donald Trump.
Perhaps she should try for President Obama when he leaves office. The leader of the free world made headlines in March for his superb tango dancing skills while visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina with first lady Michelle.
For now, in another patriotic effort, Katz said she reached out to several of the Rio Olympians in hopes they can join the show.
Peta Murgatroyd and 2016 “Dancing with the Stars” winner Nyle DiMarco perform on the show.
“You know it worked with Shawn Johnson, it worked with Misty May, it worked with Evan Lysacek, and that is our show, that’s America,” she said.
Katz explained when it comes to Olympians, it’s a waiting game until the games are done.
Gold-medalist gymnast Johnson, 24, was the winner of “Dancing with the Stars” back in 2009.
