Magic man Criss Angel and his lovely assistant and girlfriend Chloe Crawford say they’re the victims of a nasty trick.
A British tabloid reported last week that Angel had demanded that the former Playboy model disappear from his Las Vegas mansion and had even booted her from his much-hyped “Mindfreak Live” show, which opens Thursday at the Luxor in Sin City.
The pair immediately took to social media to dismiss reports of their split as pure hocus pocus, with Angel using the opportunity to trash-talk Crawford’s ex-husband, fellow magician Murray Sawchuck, whom she’d dumped nine months earlier.
Now Crawford tells us the show, and her relationship with Angel, will go on.
“For me it can be a little frustrating, but Criss has been in the public eye a lot longer than I have, so is a little more used to it,” the 28-year-old told us while promoting the show in Las Vegas.
Crawford, who was a breakout star singer on “Britain’s Got Talent,” said now that their Vegas show is about to debut, people from her and the 48-year-old Angel’s past are trying to ride their coattails by planting rumors in the press.

“Of course we have an idea who is saying stuff. We don’t know for sure,” she said. According to Crawford, not only are she and Angel still together, but they’re planning their future.
“I do want kids,” she said. “I would love to have … maybe a little girl would be nice.”
Wherever the rumors came from, they could work magic for the show.
Beyoncé and Jay Z’s “On the Run” tour was in the news almost daily after reports of an impending split surfaced. Ozzy Osbourne’s former manager told Radar.com earlier this month the hard rocker’s split from longtime wife Sharon Osbourne was a fakeout. In fact, he’d “put money on (the fact that) it’s a publicity stunt” for the heavy metal singer’s upcoming reunion tour with Black Sabbath.
A little tightrope walking by Crawford and Angel just might turn lemons to lemonade in this case, too.
